Cassandra Rice funeral expenses.
Donation protected
It's with a heavy heart that I inform you that Cassie passed away unexpectedly Saturday, June 24th at home. Cassie had overcome her stay in the hospital and was on her journey recovering at home. She was doing well and completing occupational therapy at home.
Her death comes as a tragic surprise to the family. In the early morning hours on Saturday, Abdula woke up to discover Cassie wasn't next to him. He found her laying on the floor. He realized she wasn't breathing and immediately started CPR. Abula did continue CPR until the ambulance showed up. Sadly, Cassie passed away at home.
I have increase the fundraising amount as the family is in need of our help to cover the funeral expenses. I will update this site once arrangements are finalized.
If you are able to donate, Abdula, her husband, which she adored and Anaya, her daughter, who was her whole world would be so grateful. As you can imagine, this is a very difficult time for the family. Please keep them in your prayers.
Hi, my name is Tammie Rice. Cedric Rice, my husband and I are starting this go fund me account with permission from his brother, Abdula. On April 14th, Cassie underwent Sinonasal surgery at Mayo Hospital in Phoenix Arizona where they reside. Cassie was diagnosed with stage 4 undifferential sinus cancer and had begun chemo treatments. However, the chemo was not shrinking the tumor as they wanted so they completed surgery on April 14th to remove the tumor. Cassie had difficulty after anesthesia to wake up and spent weeks in a coma, not breathing on her own in the ICU. It's been a very grave recovery. Cassie is now breathing on her own, she has had a tube-feeding placed in her stomach. Sadly, it was discovered this week that Cassie had a bilateral stroke while in a coma. Cassie is unable to speak and she has lost her vision in both eyes. Abdula spends morning to night at her beside and advocating for Cassie. He has not returned to work since taking off on April 14th and this is going to be an extremely long and difficult recovery for Cassie and the family. Their daughter, Aniyah has been to the hospital to see her mom but, as you can imagine, it's a very difficult time for her. The family is struggling with not only medical expenses but, with living expenses, gas to get to the hospital and in need of food. We asking everyone, family and friends to come together and let's help Cassie, Abdula and Aniyah in this time of need and prayer. Any amount will help this family. Thank you all and please share share share this. We will keep this page updated on her progress.
