Cassandra’s surgery and Recovery

Funds will be to help cover what insurance doesn’t cover for the surgery, utilities, rent, and food. Short term disability or other benefits are not available for her.
My fellow nurse, a good friend of mine has been handed a bad card this year. She’s been through a broken ankle, her new car being rear ended, chicken pox, and has now found out that she needs to have a hysterectomy. Unfortunately, she has not been with her job long enough to build up a substantial PTO and with all the previous issues the PTO has been exhausted. Her income is the only income for her and her two young kids. At this point she could potentially be without work for approximately 5 weeks.
She is a devoted and loving critical care nurse. Who’s had a run of bad luck since hurricane Michael. Her home of ten years was flooded and severely damaged and car was crushed by falling trees. She still showed up for work the next day and stayed at the hospital for a week to take care of ER patients that were still in town.
She has stayed strong for her children and pushed through all of the obstacles that have come her way.
If we as her friends and family can come together to help her through this unexpected surgery I know she would me more then grateful. If there is anyone that deserves a pick me up to help her stay afloat it’s Cassandra.
