Cassette deck servicing fundraiser
Donation protected
**** WE ARE NEARLY THERE! ****
Thank you to all who have donated so far - hopefully it won't be long before we reach our target and can be fully up to speed recovering lost radio programmes from cassette.
Here at RadioCircle we endeavour to recover recordings not held in official archives. Everything we get was recorded on now obsolete equipment, and the most common is cassette. Each cassette has to be transferred in real-time and will often need tweaking to get the best signal.
Nakamichi are recognised as the best cassette decks for optimising playback, but they were last manufactured decades ago. Those decks still out there require regular servicing to keep them running.
RadioCircle have several decks that are in constant use, but 3 are currently out of action and need work to get them back up and running. With thousands of cassettes awaiting transfer, we need them working, and each will cost around £200.
Obviously we would welcome offers of free or discounted servicing from companies or individuals that have a track record in this area, or sponsorship.
