Cassie's Fund for Missionary Life

Two years ago when I went on a ministry immersion to Trinidad, I met Living Water Community and found a second home and the place where God was calling me to serve Him. 

My name is Cassie Schemmel and I am discerning life as a lay consecrated missionary with Living Water Community. This means that I will commit to serve God and promise to live poverty, chastity and obedience in community with others who have chosen to serve God. Living Water Community is community of people committed to bringing the love and healing of God to those in need. They do this through a variety of ministries including pastoral care and direct service to the poor.

Part of the promise of simple living (poverty) is that I will not receive a salary for the work that I do. This promise allows us to freely serve those who cannot afford to pay us back.  So while I am ready to begin my journey of formation and service as soon as possible, I cannot join until I am free from all debt including student loans.

While I am working to pay off my loans as fast as I can, I need your help! The purpose of this GoFundMe is to ask for help in offsetting the cost of those loans for myself and my community, so that I am able to follow this path God has called me to!

Pray - This is the most important way you can help! Prayer is the sustenance of this life and that is no less true for consecrated life. While I am so excited to begin, I know that there will be challenges ahead and a lot of transition to face when I've finally joined community. For this and for the journey of paying down my loans over the next year, I need all the prayers I can get!

Give - If you are able, a financial gift means helping me get one step closer to my goal! Each and every gift is greatly appreciated. If you are unable to give, please keep my fundraising efforts and work in your prayer! I believe that God provides in amazing ways when we ask for His help.
