Cassity and Luis Wildfire Emergency Housing Fund

Hi! My name is Kailee, and my older sister Sierra and I are setting this up in hopes to raise funds for our younger sister and her husband after the home they have been renting and living in was burned to the ground in the Tunnel Fire this morning in Flagstaff, Arizona.

 

If you know our sister, Cassity, and our brother in law, Luis, they are two of THE most giving people I’ve ever met (Cass literally works for a food bank as her full time job and volunteers religiously with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, if that tells you anything).

 

 

 

 

They lost everything in this fire. The cover photo of this Go Fund Me page is a real image of what little remains of their home.

 

Cass and Luis are environmentally friendly and minimalists, and the furthest anyone can possibly be from materialistic. They didn’t own an unnecessary amount of things, but every single thing they did own was taken away by this fire.

 

I originally started to frantically gather things to bring up to them that they might need, but quickly realized they won’t have anywhere to put some of these things, and I needed to be thinking more strategically. In this moment, without overwhelming them, what do they need? What don’t they need?

 

Cassity’s employer has graciously put her and Luis up in a hotel for the next few nights. But they will still need money for lodging or housing after those few days, as well as gas for their surviving vehicle, toiletries, new prescription contacts and glasses, replacing any prescription medications, food and drinks, clothing and shoes, replacing a laptop used for the two businesses they own, etc.

 

Anything helps in terms of donations here. If anyone has put enough good karma into this world to deserve to get some of it back when they need it, it’s them.
