Castillo Ohana for lost of Lahaina home business

Aloha, my name is Gene Rey Castillo, my wife Rowena who is 5 months pregnant, and my daughter Azel (8 years old). On August 8, 2023 my family was affected by the Lahaina Wildfire. We have lost everything from our homes, our business, our pets, and even a family member in lahaina, Maui. Due to the wildfire engulfing house by house in a matter of minutes we had to react fast and get what we can, most importantly our family out of the neighborhood. All my family had split up and we were not able to get in contact with each other until the next day and some a week later. The town that we remembered was no longer the same, all we saw of what’s left are ashes of what remains of everything. We are now without a home, supplies and financial. We are continuing to live day by day through donation. My family needs help through this tough times especially my wife and daughter who really needs it the most. Please help my family. Anything helps. Thank you again and continue to pray for us and family’s in Lahaina.

Updates 8/29:

Aloha everyone, just want to update everyone on our family. Thanks to everyone who has been supportive enough and continued to keep us in your thoughts and prayers, my ohana is doing well day by day, we were fortunate enough to be taken in by a family friend, at one point we had 28 of us living in one cottage, all my family that had no where else to go, my parents, my siblings, grandparents and auntys and uncles, we had to make use of where we was at by putting up camping tents to provide more room. As days go by the rest of our family was assisted with temporary housing. My wife has been doing a lot better since the week of the disaster, we’ve been going through her check up, baby is healthy, My daughter has been doing a lot better now that we finally enrolled her to a school here on Maui, which she needed a lot to interact with kids her age and keep her busy. Thanks to the community here on Maui for providing there assistant with different types of donations clothes, food, and other necessities. Also thanks to the continued support from all over the world, we have been blessed with the amount of generosity that’s being given out there, this has been such a big help for my family, without everyone’s generosity i wouldn’t know where my family will be at today. So we thank you guys, and we are happy to say Everyone is our OHANA.
