Meet Buddy. We rescued him about sixteen months ago. On May 4th, 2019, when he was just kitten, he had been hit by a car and was laying motionless in the middle of a busy street. As we passed, we noticed him move and realized he wasn’t dead. We stopped in heavy traffic and carefully picked him up. He was tiny...
Bleeding from his mouth, his condition appeared to be hopeless. Nevertheless, we rushed him to the nearest vet in hopes of saving his life.
Upon examination, the vet said the accident had broken his jaw and paralyzed one of his front paws. Although the vet was hopeful that at Buddy would regain use of his paw, to this day it remains permanently paralyzed.
Since being rescued, Buddy has been using his injured leg for mobility. However, when he walks, he walks on his wrist joint instead of his paw. We’ve tried several different homemade remedies to help him walk better, but unfortunately, none have given him any true relief.
Overtime, walking on his wrist has created an open wound that will not heal. Even with regular bandaging, the wound continued to get worse, and now has become infected.
We again took Buddy to the vet to have his leg examined, and to inquire about having it amputated. The vet agreed that it was the best course of action, but informed us that it would be an expensive procedure.
We all love Buddy very much, but we are financial unable to afford the procedure at this critical time. So, we are reaching out to our friends for help. We have set up a go fund me account for Buddy, and deeply appreciate any financial contributions that can be made towards the cost of his surgery. Buddy thanks you too.
