Catastrophic Accident takes Wife and Daughter from Veteran

My heart aches as I share the devastating news of a catastrophic car accident that has shattered the lives of a local family.

Our friend and US Army Veteran, Tomas Contreras, was involved in a horrific crash at the end of Dec that tragically claimed the lives of his wife, Tracy, and their precious 2 1/2-year-old daughter, Eva while driving to the airport from visiting family, in order for Tomas to get his disability rating from the Department of Veteran Affairs.

Tracy and Eva passed away on impact in the car accident early Saturday, December 28th. Tomas was critically injured and put into a medically induced coma. Tomas himself has just recently been released from the hospital after being in the trauma ward, battling massive injuries sustained in the accident. Both of his arms still in casts while he recovers from multiple surgeries.

This unimaginable tragedy has left Tomas facing not only the profound grief of losing his family but also the daunting challenge of a long and arduous recovery. As he fights for his life, he needs our support now more than ever.

We have created this GoFundMe campaign to help Tomas during this incredibly difficult time. Our immediate goal is to raise funds to cover the funeral expenses for his wife and daughter, ensuring they are laid to rest with the dignity and love they deserve. While they could be buried in a Veteran Cemetery, Tracy made him promise to bury them in a specific cemetery long before this accident. Beyond that, the funds raised will be crucial in supporting Tomas' recovery, including medical expenses, rehabilitation, and any other unforeseen costs that may arise as he navigates this heartbreaking journey.

Tomas has served our country with honor and now he needs our help. As an Army Veteran myself, I know how hard it is to lose a friend in Service, I cannot fathom what he is going though now that he is out of his coma and having to face his future.
