Devastating fire: home, belongings, & 2 cats gone
Donation protected

Just a few short hours ago on January 6th, 2024, almost five years to the day of the tragic unexpected passing of my brother in law, my sister, her four babies, and her grandbaby faced tragedy once again as their entire home went up in flames along with every item that they have ever owned and their two cats, Moon and Simba, succumbed to the fire. My sister, a single mom and doula throughout NJ, has changed countless lives as she has dedicated her life to a labor of love guiding women through the journey of pregnancy, expanding their families, and ultimately as they enter their new role of motherhood. Her babies (Dominique 21, Destiny 20, Noah 17, & Niah 16 years old) are all such hard working individuals maintaining jobs, helping their mom in supporting their household, working overtime to do nice gestures for their family, and most importantly they are beautiful human beings who care for others and always strive to make people smile and be happy despite the extremely unfair hand that life has dealt them repeatedly.
When my brother in law passed away 5 years ago I know they never imagined staring in the face of tragedy again yet back they were standing on ice in the street barely clothed after being awoken to glass breaking and holding each other as they escaped and ultimately watched their house go up completely in flames with every single memory that they have ever had inside … every single memory of their late father … important documents … their clothing … their sweet kittens … irreplaceable memories … every single item that they have ever owned except for the clothes on their backs. To say that they are undeserving is quite frankly not a strong enough sentiment.

I urge anybody reading this to find it in their heart to please support my family as we navigate this new chapter helping my sister, her kids, and her grandbaby rebuild their lives from absolute zero.
I can only hope that despite the tragic start to this year that things turn around for my family. For my beautiful sister and these perfect children she has busted her ass raising. Today we hold each other and thank God that they are all present and here with us and pray for life to turn around for them all.
Hold your loved ones close and appreciate all the beautiful things in life. Thank you for your time. Happy new year.
