Catastrophic Hurricane Ida Damage on the CCMRC

On August 29th, 2021, Category 4 Hurricane Ida made devastating landfall in Louisiana. As a result, THE CRESCENT CITY MODEL RAILROAD CLUB, (CCMRC) suffered significant damage from fallen trees and flying debris.  The gaping holes in the roof produced severe interior water damage.
 
The railroad’s founding dates back to the mid 1950’s, when a small group of teenagers began meeting in each other's homes to operate model trains in a realistic manner. Throughout the years, the group has expanded in membership and the layout’s size and capacity capabilities now allows the hosting of regular prototypical switching and live dispatch-controlled track authority operations. The club hosts annual events for the community, including open houses at the railroad and “Train Days” at local libraries to encourage the hobby of model railroading and promote rail safety.
 
The CCMRC is seeking your support, big or small, to get “back on track” to share the joys of model railroading with generations “down the line.” We appreciate your support!
