Cateract Surgery June - August 2023

The initial first Surgery date was changed by the Doctor's office to August 10th and the second Surgery for the other eye is August 21st. Both Surgery's will still be done in Chesapeake VA:

Hello my name is Candace Sims Janne. I am trying to raise money for my upcoming Cateract surgery in June/July as I currently have no eye care insurance coverage. 

April of last year (2022) I was diagnosed with Cateracts in both eyes from my Eye Care Physician, Dr. Alex Whal in Goldsboro, NC. 

In Oct. (2022) when I saw Dr. Whal again the Cateracts had progressively worsened rather rapidly in both eyes. 

April 2023 I saw him again and he referred me to an eye surgeon (Opthalmologist) to have Cateract surgery. Since my last two visits (Oct. 02' and April 03') Dr. Whal adjusted my prescription both times to not strain my eyes further until my surgery, although they are no where near the prescription they should be at and said it was all he could do as the root of the problem is due to the Cataracts. He said and stressed this surgery is imperative to avoid blindness. 

June 13, 2023 I saw Dr. Jitendra Swarup, MD (Surgeon) in Kinston, NC for my evaluation for my upcoming surgery June/July. I had several extensive tests done on machines, including drops for dialation and drops for distance. Following the evaluation there was a conference with Surgeon Dr. Jitendra Swarup, MD. The office visit (separate cost) was $310.00. I am awaiting now for my surgery dates. He will do one eye at a time and the other in two weeks. The estimated surgery cost for both eyes is $5,500.00. There will be another pre-op (pre-operation) Dr. visit prior to the surgery (separate cost). It will be done at Albemarle Eye Care Surgery Center in Chesapeake, VA (travel and expenses also separate).
