Catherine Mayou’s Miracle Recovery
Donation protected
On last Wednesday, the tenth of January 2024, my mama Catherine Mayou was crossing the street to attend an evening Church service and was struck by a truck that turned without looking. As she fell, her head hit the asphalt first, and her brain began to hemorrhage. Since then she has been in a coma and undergone round after round of neurosurgery.
My mom is the heart and soul of our family. She’s 51 years old, and she’s most proud of being a mother of four. She’s given her whole life to her kids, homeschooling us and raising us to know the value of family and faith in God. Since the event, my family and her many friends have spent every day at the hospital, praying over her, keeping her up to date on her Bible through the year, and making sure she knows how much we all love her. My mom is the type of person who goes to Church at least twice a week. She is an incredibly strong woman of God, and we’re all believing for her perfect recovery.
Police have determined that the driver was at fault, but we are worried insurance might not cover the full extent of the bills, let alone the physical therapy we anticipate upon her waking up, and the gas for our household to travel 2 hours to the hospital and back every day. My family has been left in a precarious situation.
The hospital she’s staying at is the closest one to the Church, where her accident happened, but is so far from our home because she always told us that a Church alive is worth the drive. I don’t know if it’s possible to convey in a format like this what a unique and special person my mom is. My name is James Mayou, I’m her son, and a service member. I only have a few more days on emergency leave with her before I leave her in the capable hands of my wife, my father, and our Holy Father. I feel the need to establish this fundraiser to assist my family as they continue to support and uplift my beautiful mama. This has been very financially difficult for my family, and I want to do what I can to ease the burden for my parents.
Thank you, everyone, for the support. If you can’t donate, please pray for her. I will continue posting updates as they come. Funds will go towards legal fees, medical bills, and supporting the Mayou family in the coming weeks.
