James 5:14-16 “Any one of you who is ill should send for the elders of the church, and they must anoint the sick person with oil in the name of the Lord and pray over him..., and the Lord will raise him up again;...., the heartfelt prayer of someone upright works very powerfully”.

This verse holds a special meaning to Catherine Rosana Celaire, whose near 20 years of battling heart failure proclaims the greatness of the Lord and the beauty of modern medicine. According to her doctors, she is not at the moment qualified for a heart transplantation and needs immediate surgery to keep her alive. Her doctor are preparing to implant a pump (LVAD: www.heartmate.com) to achieve that possibility. She has not given up hope of one day making it on the heart transplantation list. There is the possibility of her hopes being fulfilled with the LVAD. Her family and friends share in that same possibility of hope and await the fulfillment of her continued faith in God’s miraculous deeds and the Holy Spirit filled knowledge of her doctors. As we continue down the path towards healing, seeking, in one heart and one unity, require financial assistance to help in that achievement. Throughout her battle Catherine has kept her faith foremost and made all human possibility to remain diligent in pushing forward to a better way of living with heart failure.

Catherine’s battles have never swayed her giving and caring heart. Along her journey, she has kept true to service to others and continues to work the Vineyards of the Lord in any capacity possible. As a child, it was instilled in hey by her parents that answering the call to ministry and caring for others meant living Mathew 25:40 “..., ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” Over the years Catherine has been a diligent member of several organizations that focus on caring for the poor, needy, home bound, and downtrodden. She has served in groups such as legion of Mary, Saint Vincent de Paul, Catholic Women Association, Magnificat, pastoral ministry services, Choir, soup kitchens, charismatic organizations, and several youth groups. As long as a group serves the need of the community, Catherine answers the call.

Her ability to continue to love and care for others is the reason why we, her family and friends want to gather in unity to make this new venture a possibility. Even from her hospital bedside at John Hopkins Hospital she continues to be the earpiece for those who are burdened. A shelter, during stormy seas. Providing a smile on all those faces worried about her present condition. Catherine is a protector, caregiver, charitable, dependable, open-hearted, faithful, diligent, practitioner of patience, giver of hope, inspirational and most of all, humble.

Catherine has spent her life helping others and now it is our time to help her!
