Eric Heard
Hi my name is Eric Heard. I am a high school student and teach for Yogis in Service. I’ve been doing yoga for 9 years and yoga has really changed my life for the better. Yoga is something I can run to if I have a problem with anything such as school, work, or life it self. Yoga is not only a physical practice but it’s a meditation something that i can do anytime during the day. I want to take the Trauma Informed Training because I want to not only learn more about yoga but I want to enhance my teaching. The more I know the better. I want to go to India because I love traveling and I know going to India will not only be a learning experience but a trip of a lifetime.
Daija Price
Hello my name is Daijanae Price.I am a high school student and I teach for Yogis in Service. Before yoga I would spend a lot of time with family at my grandparents' house. School was not going that well for me. I had a rough time comprehending what was taught. I had to figure out something and I had questions that I asked myself everyday like, How can I Concentrate on my Work? How can I Concentrate on my Mind and Body? The answer to these questions was “Yoga”. Yoga has helped me focus more on me. I was the type of person that cared so much on my surroundings that I never found time for Daija. I was never worried about Daija. It was easy for me to get upset if something happen but with yoga I come back to my breathe during a rough time. Yoga has also helped me speak up about things that are not right. When I was younger I was shy and I did not have the courage that I have now. Yoga has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone, speak to new people, and overall be helpful to my community and the ones around me. I would like to take the Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher Training because I want to learn more about yoga and the different types of yoga. I would like to go to India because that would be something different for me to travel across the world and learn about other people and their cultures.
Diane Rose
Hey my name is Diane Rose. I am a Yogis in Service Teacher and I want to take you back to ten years ago. Ten years ago I was the head of household with two children and seven grandchildren. I was also a foster parent to over 18 children. I was the compassionate and spiritual mother which spread joy and happiness to my family, friends, and community. I was a school bus driver for eleven years. My 11th year I was rear ended. This caused neck and back injuries. I had really low self esteem. I was under several medications and had to attend physical therapy which lasted for about a year and a half. My doctor had prescribed antidepressant and mood enhancing medication. During this time I was fearful. I was unhappy. I didn’t want anyone around. It was like nothing was important to me. Drugs and alcohol started to take a toll on me. Now let’s fast forward four years, My grandson Eric was attending summer camp and I would babysit before and after summer camp. Eric would come home and tell me all about his day and started to teach me yoga poses. One day Eric invited me to his camp to take this yoga class. Right then and there my life changed. I had so much fun. I was filled with so much energy and happiness that the pain went away. I learned how to breathe through the pain I was feeling. I felt powerful so much so that I continued to attend these summer classes. Now I eat healthy and I practice yoga over 150 hours a week. I was introduced to mindfulness & trauma informed training during my 2017 200hr YIS certified TT. I want to take this training to enhance my own knowledge & understanding on Wellness, which will allow me. to provide a benefit to others who have been through or going thru such situations in & around my Community. I want to go to India to experience a different cultures ,customs, day to day living habits, and architectural attractions. This is an opportunity to enhance my education.
