Cathi"s Journey

Hi. My name is Jessica and i am fundraising for my parents. My parents have been together for 46 yrs, they have 3 children, 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

They are the least selfish people I know, always putting others before themselves especially family., more times than not leaving themselves short.

My dad was diagnosed with a brain tumour (it was removed however has grown back and is now inoperable), since then my mother has been his carer. They sold our family home which they spent all their lives paying for to buy a motorhome so that they could travel whilst my dad still could and to make memories together.

My parents entered WA last week, little did we know that my mum would take a turn for the worse. We received a call on Saturday night after my father had driven 350km to take my mum to hospital for what we thought was gallstones, to be told my mother was septic and the chances of her survival as told to us was very slim as her organs were shutting down. She is currently in ICU in Perth, on kidney Dialysis, incubated, has had two surgeries with more to follow and on the otherside of the country from their loved ones. It is expected that mum will be in ICU for quite sometime. My dad travelled the remaining 700km to be with the love of his life and my sister travelled acthe country to help support my parents in this hard time.
