Cathy and Greg Gastfield Relief Fund

Hi, my name is Debi Joy, in Illinois, I am putting together this fundraiser for my dear friends Cathy and Greg Gastfield. I have know Cathy since we were both teenagers.

Cathy was an ER nurse in Florida during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the inevitable happened where she contracted the virus. Unfortunately she has been one of those individuals who just couldn’t shake it, and has been dealing with Long COVID since June 2020. This has caused her to not be able to return to work. Through this entire journey she continued to have just an amazing attitude about everything I was in awe.

Together Cathy and Greg worked to figure out how to make things work on only one income, spending their savings and retirement money, but being able to stay just above water to cover living expenses and all of Cathy’s medical bills. Things were tight, but they made it work, and then hurricane Ian hit.

Their house sustained damage, as many in the area did, but it was standing and they had a positive attitude, but then things got worse. Greg’s place of employment was hit so hard from the hurricane and now Greg cannot work to full capacity.  When they need money to not only repair their home, but just live, there is limited income coming in.

Cathy and Greg are always give out a helping hand, they would never ask for themselves, but I am asking for others to help them get back on their feet during this unprecedented time.
