Cathy Mascardo Dimapilis

On October 12th, 2023 we lost a beautiful soul Cathy Dimapilis who succumbed to her battle with cancer at the age 59. She was a strong advocate and beat breast cancer in 2013. Unfortunately, the cancer returned suddenly. This time it was more aggressive and Cathy was unable to survive its attack.

Cathy was a single mother of two young adults: Her daughter Carina is busy with graduate school and her son Jordan continues battles with his own cancer. This past year she met her soul mate Tom. She was beyond happy with her new relationship with Tom and last month they journeyed on her first trip to Europe.

Cathy was an employee at Southwestern College for 16 years as a secretary to the dean. She is remembered as a "bright light" with a positive spirit who was always willing to help others. Those who knew her remember her contagious laugh and stunning smile.
