Cathy Needs Just A Little Help

Donation protected
On October 18, 2016, I was diagnosed with something almost nobody's heard of: Appendiceal Mucinous Adenocarcinoma, often referred to as mucous cancer.   What happened is that my appendix stopped doing its normal job (whatever that is) and started to put out a lot of sticky, blobby, jelly-like mucous into my intestines where it stuck like glue.  It's an exceedingly rare disease.  Most people who get it have the low-grade, benign version.  Mine is high-grade and malignant.  I'm very, very lucky because mine was caught amazingly early and it hasn't spread anywhere yet, which is even more highly unusual (normally folks get this diagnosis years after the process started and it has spread all throughout the abdonimal cavity and beyond).

The treatment is agressive chemotherapy to kill the malignant cancer cells followed by a massively invasive operation to clean out the remaining blob,  There is a great chance that I will be just fine once I've gone through this.  Unfortunately, my chances of being ultimately fine decrease the longer I wait to begin.

And here's why I'm having to wait.  I will definitely qualify for disability once chemo starts, but it will take about three months for that to be approved.  In the meantime, bills will have to be paid and food will have to be bought and the car will need gas.  I  really need to start treatment as soon as possible, and your donation will allow that process to begin immediately.   Thank you for your consideration and help!
