Cathy Pongelli Koeplin Journey to Overcome Cancer

Hello,

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of prayers, well wishes, and thoughtful gifts that have come my way. I am reaching out today to provide an update on my current situation and the progress I've been making. On May 16th, I received the diagnosis of stage 3 peritoneal cancer, a condition that affects the protective lining of the organs in my abdominal region. Since then, I underwent surgery to remove the larger tumors, although there are still several smaller tumors that couldn't be eliminated. Typically, these remaining tumors are treated with chemotherapy, and I started my first session on July 15th.

The journey through chemotherapy has been challenging, with the anticipated side effects becoming a reality. I can honestly say that it has been an incredibly tough experience. Adding to the complexity of my situation, I am also grappling with ongoing digestive issues, particularly chronic diarrhea, which has persisted from before my diagnosis and has yet to be resolved.

Regrettably, the combination of these factors has left me in a state of physical weakness.  It's not easy for me to ask for assistance, but many of you have expressed a desire to help in any way possible. I humbly reach out to you now to ask for any financial support you can provide. Your contributions will go a long way in helping me manage my day-to-day expenses and allow me to focus on regaining my health.

My goal is to return to work and normalcy as soon as possible, and with your support, I believe I can achieve that. As I navigate this journey, I hold onto the belief that there is a higher power guiding me through, and I find comfort in being a passenger on this journey, with God at the wheel.
