Cathy is a friend of mine of more than 30 years. She has always been a hard worker and never asks anyone for anything. She was working 2 jobs and had insurance when she began having severe back pain never thinking it had anything to do with colon cancer. She has never been sick before in her life other than very minor things so she had no reason to think it was a bad illness. She quit the job with insurance and was in the process of getting insurance with the other job when she became so ill that she finally had to go to the doctor. That day they ran some tests, sent her directly to the ER and a scan of her abdomen was done which showed she had a mass in her colon. That afternoon she had colon surgery which resulted in a colostomy bag for the rest of her life. None of this is covered by insurance and she is not able to work and not sure when she will be able to return. The first thing that needs to be done is to get enough money together to have the chemo port put in so Cathy can begin chemo since the hospital is wanting money upfront. Then funds will be needed to pay for the chemo drugs which may also be required upfront. Of course, there is the doctors, hospitals and assorted other bills that come along with a surgery. Even though her monthly bills are not a large amount, she will also need help with those until she is able to return to work. Anything you can give is greatly appreciated. She is also thankful for any prayers as she has a very strong faith in the Lord. God Bless and thank you very much.
