Help Us Save Cats Like Knox from FIP
Knox is one of the many kittens at Cats Pawjamas Rescue Society who has faced the formerly 100% fatal Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP). His story shows why we urgently need your help.
In December, Knox's foster noticed something was wrong. By Christmas Day, his condition had rapidly deteriorated—he stopped eating, drinking, and using the litter box. He was lethargic and vomiting. Within days, Knox could have been gone.

FIP progresses with alarming speed, but there is hope. In 2019, UC Davis developed a life-saving treatment (GS-441) with an over 85% success rate. Although the oral form is now legally available, its injectable counterpart is critical for cats in advanced stages like Knox. Injections bypass issues like vomiting or lack of appetite, ensuring the medication is absorbed quickly and effectively.
Knox’s life was saved because we had a few leftover doses of the injectable treatment. But supplies are difficult to obtain, and the oral medication takes 4–6 days to arrive—time many cats simply don’t have.
We need your help to raise $1,000 to stock the injectable form of GS-441. This vital medication costs over $1,000 to fully treat a single kitten, but having it on hand to begin treatment could mean the difference between life and death for up to 10 kitties like Knox.
FIP is not contagious, but the underlying virus is common among cats. While only a small percentage develop FIP, the need for immediate treatment when it strikes is critical.
Your donation today can help ensure we’re prepared to save more lives like Knox’s. Cats Pawjamas Rescue Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and rehoming cats and kittens at risk. Together, we can give these vulnerable animals a fighting chance.
