Cayce's Smile
Donation protected
Cayce (on the right in picture) is only 30 years old and the fiance of my daughter, Carmen (on the left). Through no fault of her own, Cayce was cursed with very bad teeth. She has been trying to afford dental care for a bit now but cannot wait any longer. She has battled 3 horrible infections in her upper jaw this year and urgently needs to have, not one, but 16 teeth removed. These teeth cannot be saved according to dentists and when they are all pulled, she will only have 6 teeth of her own on the bottom. We just learn that those 6 teeth all need fillings in order to be saved. She will then need an upper denture and a partial lower denture just to be able to chew and eat again. Cayce is currently working as an assistant manager at a Jimmy Johns. They have no insurance and no extra money (after getting hit hard financially this year through the Covid shutdowns they are barely making ends meet). Dental work is expensive but in this case it is urgent for Cayce. She will need at least $2200 to cover all the extractions, $1000 for the fillings needed on the remaining 6 teeth, and then minimally another $1400 to cover the cost of full upper dentures and partial lower ones. This is not about vanity or having a nice smile, this is about health and being able to eat again.
You don't think about teeth as being a medical emergency but in this case they certainly are. She is in pain, unable to eat, and battling infection. Her holidays this year will be filled with painful extractions and procedures while ours are filled with holiday meals to enjoy.
Please consider just what you may be able to afford to help Cayce out of this situation. Even if many gave just the cost of a coffee, we would be closer to the goal for the money needed. Dentists will not do work without being paid and time has run out for Cayce. I love these girls and if you knew them you would love them too! Cayce is the sweetest, kindest, gentlest soul who loves animals and loves my daughter. Carmen is a straight A student studying business so that she can provide for them better in 2 years.... but unfortunately Cayce's teeth cannot wait for that time. Please give what you can, share this if you can't, and say a prayer for Cayce.
