Cayel Holmgren's Trail to Recovery

Donation protected
For those of you that do not know Cayel, you should know that he is a smart, kind, funny, charismatic 17-year-old. He had aspirations to mountain bike competitively in college and at a professional level, and he was on his way to making it all happen!!

This past Saturday around 2 pm, Cayel suffered a major brain injury at Floyd Hill Park in Evergreen, Colorado. His Dad, Brian, suspects this was a result of 2 hikers ignoring all signage and hiking UP a known DOWNHILL biking-only trail. The consequences of these 2 hikers have been devastating, not only to Cayel’s life, but to his promising cycling career. Cayel has been recovering in the ICU since the accident. His recovery will not only be mentally and physically challenging but also costly.

I am raising funds to help him and his family pay for all his medical needs, whether it's hospital bills, rehab, and any medical equipment he might need. His mountain bike also took quite a beating, and as all cyclists know, bikes are not cheap!! I am setting an initial goal to help with any out-of-pocket expenses. Even with insurance, the costs of the upcoming battle can be staggering.
