In Honor of Stephanie Barrios
Donation protected
Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you know, on November 18, 2013, my niece Stephanie Barrios was a victim of domestic violence – her life taken tragically at the age of 29. Stephanie realized her relationship of over a decade was no longer conducive to her or her six-year-old son’s well-being and made the decision to move to Woodbridge, NJ, in 2013 to be with her sister and family. Stephanie refused to be intimidated, to give in to fear or to be bullied any longer. She had empowered herself by moving away and was determined to make a better life for her and her son, Seth. Tragically, her bright future was ended by the very person she sought to leave in her past. Her light snuffed out in an instant.
On September 20, 2014, we are hosting an event, which will include dinner; music; and auction items to celebrate what would have been Stephanie’s 30th birthday. It is also two months shy of her one year anniversary from when she was taken from us. In addition to honoring Stephanie, we would like to bring awareness of domestic violence.
At the event, we will have the Woodbridge DVRT (Domestic Violence Response Team) speak at our event. We are seeking donations to make this event a success.
Thank you all in advance for your contributions. If you would like to attend our event, tickets can be purchased at Stop Domestic Violence in Honor of Stephanie Barrios.
Sincerely yours,
Carmen Lorenzo
