C.C. Football Community, help Kevin Goldsworthy
Let’s show what the Central Coast Football community can do when we stick together by helping to support one of our own - Kevin Goldsworthy (Big Kev)
We are all aware that life can change in the blink of an eye and unfortunately for Kev that’s what has happened. Kev has had a stroke which has effected him not only physically & mentally but also financially. And we are asking for some help! He’s a proud man and won’t ask, but we know from speaking with family that Kev needs a hand and he deserves it also.
Kev is a self employed painter and without being able to work has little income, with still the stressors of everyday life and bills whilst he is now in the rehabilitation phase of his stroke in hospital. Which unfortunately will be for months to come! Mind you when I visited Kev prior to all the strict visiting conditions now imposed, I could definitely still see the Kev we all know and love working so hard to get back to his old self. He hasn’t lost his cheekiness!!
Regarding Kevin’s business we’d like to let everyone know that Bryce (Kevin’s-son) is keeping any projects Kev has going & would love to help to try and give Kev the chance of having a business to return to, (so please contact Bryce if that’s you & you haven’t heard anything for the last few weeks). Please let Bryce know your name, address, brief job details and if you’ve received a written quote or not as this will assist in managing/booking Kev’s job’s so no one is let down, as that’s the last thing Kev would want. Also as you can imagine this is a huge job for one person (whilst also trying to run his own business) and will only last for a few more weeks. So now that Kev is in the rehabilitation phase of his stroke in hospital he needs OUR help more than ever!
Kev is the man who has always had the gift of giving and the biggest heart, especially when it came to kids. Kev would give a child the money to grab a bottle of water when they’d forgotten one for their game, or sneak a gold coin for some lollies from the canteen. Kev coached every season for 15 years at Berkeley Vale Soccer Club (even teams without his own children in them & more then one team in a season) and he was also Junior Vice President at Berkeley Vale Soccer Club for many seasons! Kev was the first one to jump in when we have done fundraising for others that have needed it within our awesome football community! And that was after also committing himself to football in the same way in the Sydney region prior to moving to the Central Coast. Kev gave his all to football & those who played the game we all love. It is so heartwarming hearing so many stories of how Kev has helped so many people over the years and it feels like the time we gave back to one of our own.
Under normal circumstances (Pre COVID-19) we would have banded together with local clubs & United In Football to run a fundraising football day. But unfortunately in these unprecedented times we cannot see this as becoming a reality in the foreseeable future or even in the time needed to actually help Kev. So instead we are resorting to this type of crowd funding and asking each of you to help if you can, every $ helps and if you can’t give financially then please share this page with everyone you know so we can get as many people on board as possible to help a man who’s given so much of himself to the game we all love.
Regarding Kev and the effects of this stroke, Kev is having to learn new ways to communicate & is in need of ongoing medical help but the worst is thankfully over and we still have Kev here with us which is the most important thing!
Kev unfortunately cannot have visitors (you all know he loves a chat & could have done with visitors) due to being in both a semi lockdown situation from this COVID-19 and also because Kev is in rehabilitation that will be ongoing for some time BUT if you have a message/video for Kev to see then please either leave a comment/video in the comments section below or message his eldest son Bryce on 0479 067 039. If you have something you would like passed onto Kev also please msg Bryce as I know this would be very appreciated also.
THANK YOU all so much for understanding this isn’t our normal way we’d support one of our own but at this stage it’s the only way we can see to help him in the immediate future & we Thank You for every dollar that’s donated and every share that you do, from the bottom of our hearts.
PS. Every dollar donated into this Gofundme is going directly to an account setup for Kev that is administered by Bryce and will 100% go towards paying bills and supporting Kev. So no middle man between your donation and Kev being helped.
Thank You all so so much, if you have any general queries please phone me on 0431 028 848.
