Mark Peterson’s Memory Swim:
Mark Peterson started at the Kingsbury Club as a coach for the swim team. He shared his love of swimming and inspired many young swimmers to practice, work hard and always do their best. He also became a friend to so many members and staff at the Kingsbury Club through his own daily swimming ritual.
Mark struggled with cancer on and off for almost a decade and having such a wonderful place to go always gave him the strength to work towards getting back to the club after treatment. His many friends and acquaintances at Kingsbury gave him a tremendous amount of love and support which truly made a difference in his ability to persevere. Mark’s positive presence at the pool was contagious. He always brought his positive attitude with him even when he was struggling. Every person he bumped into out at the pool as well as all throughout the club was instantly uplifted by his presence. His graceful swimming technique was unlike anything else we saw, we could tell it was him by those backstroke arms.
Please join Mark’s family and friends in celebrating the life of Mark Peterson. August 25th is the first year anniversary of Mark’s passing and we would like to honor him through a mile swim (or less) on that day (or during the week). Donations will be used to start a scholarship for a family in need for the swim team. Mark would be proud to be able to provide the opportunity to pass along his passion for swimming.
Thank you!
