CC's Lifesaving Surgery
Donation protected
Ever since CC was brought home from a rescue at three years old, she's always loved cuddling, attention, and play. Unfortunately, her parents do occasionally need to sleep, and at night she makes her own fun. A few weeks ago, she decided to crawl into the bathroom cabinets and play on her own with some dental floss, eating nearly two meters of it in one long piece.
As impressive a feat as that may be, it was also very nearly a deadly one. She went from lively and active to hiding behind a toilet bowl, throwing up with pitiful meows. We took her to our regular vet who managed to cut off some floss that was tangled around her tongue, but we had to rush her to the animal ER to get the rest.
Once there, the ER vets informed us that we only had hours to act. CC had dental floss from her belly all the way to her colon, and it was starting to tie her intestines together. The incredible surgeons made three different incisions to remove all the floss, and thanks to our quick actions and the amazing medical team, CC was stitched up and is now healthy and strong and back on her feet.
We are asking for help with her medical bills. Right before she fell ill, my husband's company had to lay off several contractors including him due to a lack of business. A bill we normally could have handled paying off over time suddenly became impossible. We had to open a new credit card and place the bills on it immediately to save her life, but we're struggling to get the money to pay it off. Without income and with our savings going to her surgery, we risk losing our home.
Every little bit helps us pay off the surgery she needed to survive. Thank you for whatever you can give.
