How do you ask for money when you're the one who's made all the financial mistakes? How do you explain to your loved ones that you've messed up so badly that the only way out is with their help? I've never been very good at asking for help and especially bad where money is concerned. My husband's car needs a new engine. It's another thing on top of a long line of things we can't afford right now. We've been playing catch up on our bills since my maternity leave which seems to be never ending at this point and can barely pay our monthly bills as it is (and this is after cutting down on gratuitous spending). It's embarassing that I've put us in this situation and even worse that I'm now resorting to begging from my friends and family, but I see no other choice. Please, if you can donate, every dollar helps. We won't know until tomorrow what the actual cost will be, but even a used engine will be a couple thousand at least after parts and labor.

I'll be hosting a garage sale on 8/2. The original intention was for the money to go towards a past due bill, but since we need the car for work so that we can continue to pay bills, any money from that will go towards the car instead.
