UPDATE: After speaking more with Olivia, we decided the proceeds from this fundraising effort will be set aside as a college fund for Noah and Owen.
Richard's wife and two young children are going to have a deep void in their lives, with the recent passing of Richard. If you knew Richard, you probably were aware that he had been fighting a 5 year battle with a rare cancer. Working up to the last day, he lost this fight on December 5th, 2020.
Richard was a dedicated husband, loyal friend, precious son, kind sibling, incredible colleague and overall gentle soul. Richard was at home in nature. Fittingly, there is an opportunity on his obituary in the Hanford Sentinel to plant a tree in his memory.
About this effort: A number of people wanted to get a "Go Fund Me" fundraiser started on Richard's behalf. It is now a college fund. So far, the $1000 and $2500 marks have been generously surpassed. We know no amount can replace a husband or father, but it could lighten a little bit of the load.

The fundraising team will keep this campaign open through what would have been Richard's 40th Birthday, on January 12th, 2021.
