Cece and Ella’s Voluntary trip to Tanzania
Donation protected
Hi, we are Cece and Ella. We are currently second year students at Cardiff University studying nursing. In March 2024 we have been given the amazing opportunity to embark on a once in a life time opportunity to travel to Arusha, Tanzania and experience first hand nursing and healthcare in a children’s hospital. As nursing volunteers we will be supporting the provision of urgent and acute care to help children and their families.
When in Tanzania we will be working full time with healthcare colleagues (nurses, doctors and other healthcare professionals) gaining valuable hands on experience in a less fortunate environment. It is one of the best methods for us, as student nurses, to enhance our perspectives and nursing style for practice in the future. The healthcare in Tanzania is very different to here in the UK, we will be faced with challenges that they experience and go through everyday for example, living with HIV /AIDS and Malaria. This will enhance our nursing knowledge and clinical skills and will also enable us to gain new experiences as well as giving back to a community.
We feel so privileged to be in this position and have this unique opportunity.
As volunteers we are needing to personally fund our flights, accommodation, vaccines and visas. If you would like to support us, by making a donation, this would be greatly appreciated and allow us to make a difference and make our nursing dreams come true.
