Cedar Door has been a local and neighborhood bar and restaurant since 1975. We have been truly blessed to be able to survive and withstand the many changes that downtown Austin life has thrown at us, while being truly a mom and pop restaurant. We were able to start a real dream project, La Volpe restaurant and bar, in 2018. Never did we predict such an awful pandemic would take place.
Due to the recent closure of all bars and restaurants until May 1st due to the spread of COVID-19. With that, our staff has lost their means of income. Many of our front of house employees are tipped employees, earning their majority of income through tips from service. Our back of house staff depends on their hourly, while usually in conjunction with an hourly from another restaurant job.
Our goal is to raise $500 for each of our 65 wonderful staff and their families in this time of need. Any amount you wish to donate goes directly to them to help pay their rent, buy groceries, pay their phone bill, etc. This is going to be a long 45 days that you could make a bit easier!
