It has been just over 1000 days since Ceilie Reynold's horrific car accident. Since September 9, 2019, Ceilie has made incredible progress! Ceilie returned to college and little by little she returned to activities like biking, snow skiing, swimming, and even scuba diving -- her life's passion!
Your donations to this Go Fund Me campaign continue to help make her advancements possible. Thank you!
Here are a few updates we'd love to share with you:
HEARING: While in COVID-19 lockdowns, Ceilie continued to make progress! Her hearing was restored with a one-in-a-million surgical effort at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai.
VISION: Ceilie visits Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia every six months with the hope of being included in any research or clinical trial to help restore her vision. As of her last visit, her "good" left eye is down to 24% central vision and requires glasses . With support from The NJ Commission for the Blind, Ceilie is attending weekly classes on how to use her blind cane (aka "Elmo") and gain independence to adjust to her new reality.
ELBOW: Ceilie's earlier elbow surgeries were a tremendous success. The plate that was useful to her in the early stage of recovery is now putting pressure on nerves running through her arm. On July 29th 2022, Ceilie will undergo her 5th elbow surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery to remove it. Please wish her Good Luck!
SCUBA: With the help of Patriot Scuba, in Occoquan, Virginia who operate Patriots for Disabled Divers, Ceilie got back in the water with her Dad and retired Navy Surgeon, Jeff Currer. Early in Ceilie's recovery, Ceilie was told that she would never dive again. Patriot Scuba not only got her back in the water diving again, but they told her she can be an instructor again too! With Ceilie's limited vision and significant brain injury she thought this was completely out of reach -- check out this video of her reaction to the news:

SKIING: Ceilie even has gone skiing a few times with instruction from the Adaptive Sports Foundation. Check out her moves on the slopes! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/S5oPvGCPl-8
We ask for your continued support and prayers as Ceilie moves into her next phase of rehab.
Thank you,
