Ceiling Hoist Lift /Care System for Tucker Thigpen
Donation protected
Tucker (pictured here in the wheelchair) has Angelman Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder causing severe developmental delays. Tucker also suffered a traumatic head and brain injury at 11 years of age leaving him paralyzed requiring the use of a wheelchair. He is total care at home and must be lifted from his wheelchair to the bed, to the bathroom, etc. He is now 20 years of age and will be graduating from the school system at the end of May, 2019. If Tucker were a normal high school graduate, he would be getting graduation gifts in celebration of the next phase of his life, likely college. Many have asked Tucker's mother what they can do for Tucker's graduation so in lieu of 'graduation gifts, I thought it would be wonderful if we 'pool' our gifts to invest in a Ceiling Hoist Lift and Care System and handicapped accessible tub for his home so that he can more easily be cared for. Unfortunately, these items are seen as "luxuries' by the insurance companies and can be quite pricey to acquire and get installed. Every bit helps - PLEASE share the word and let's work together and accomplish this for Tucker.
