STORIES of Space started as an ambitious idea Beth Mund shared in August 2022 on her Casual Space podcast. Aegis Aerospace graciously agreed to carry our first set of STORIES to space. All 300+ submitted stories that were sent to our website (www.storiesofspace.com) were launched on on August 1, 2023 on a Northrup Grumman rocket to the International Space Station, where the stories spent a total of 273 days in space, completing 4,368 orbits around Earth and traveling 111,384,000 miles! Our stories retuned on a SpaceX Dragon capsule on April 30, 2024.

Our first collection of stories went to the International Space Station (Mission 01). Our second collection of submitted stories flew on a Zero-G flight (Mission 02). Our current mission (Mission 03) will be launching with our Canadian partners, Maritime Launch Services, from Canada's first and historic commercial spaceport in Nova Scotia in 2025!

So what's next? More stories. More Missions.

We are always looking to launch more stories into space- and since we've already launched stories into low Earth orbit, we're ready to land stories on the Moon and on to Mars!!

STORIES of Space operates on an annual budget of $50,000, covering the costs that include launching, testing, outreach and engagement with storytellers like you from around the globe. With your help, we will launch more stories to space, inspire future explorers, and change the way we explore space, one story at a time.
