UPDATE: AMELIE IS CANCER FREE! THANK YOU FOR ALL THE DONATIONS!

1/31/24, the day I was declared cancer free️ this journey has been filled with love, tears, strength, lessons but most importantly light and positivity. I didn’t think I’d see this day come and now that it has I feel so blessed. Cancer has taught me many things but most importantly how to love myself no matter what. I watched myself turn into a completely different person and learned how no matter what battle comes my way, I can beat it. Not only do I thank everyone for their support, I thank them for their strength even more. To watch someone you love go through something so hard can’t be easy, to all my family and friends, you are so strong and special to me. Finally to all the nurses and my Dr at CHLA, thank you for curing me, this journey will be one I will never forget and I wear it with pride. To everyone going through cancer right now, there is light at the end of the tunnel, you are the strongest of all of us and I stand with you <3

---------------------
Amelie turns 18 on the 7th of October. A milestone that is all the more important given her recent battle with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer that sometimes hits teenagers. We want to throw her an amazing party, worthy of the warrior that she is, while also supporting Children's Hospital LA, without whom she wouldn't even be well enough to have a party! She was diagnosed in April 2023 after a year of extreme fatigue and other symptoms. It was a huge shock and very hard to get our heads around. But she was astounding - so strong and courageous - always thinking of how this journey can help her to help others. She has spent the best part of the past 6 months in hospital (surgeries, chemo, blood transfusions, chest drains, targeted therapy, immunotherapy) in a lot of constant pain, with breathing and skin issues, and hair loss. This was all because of a large tumour between her heart and lungs. Despite all of this she still cared about the other children there and making sure her siblings were ok. It was a huge test for us all and it was only in the last month that we got the news that the treatment is working and the tumour is shrinking (down from 10cm to 2cm). We are not out of the woods, but we can see light breaking through a dark sky, and feel like we have been blessed with our very own miracle.

We really want to acknowledge all of this on her 18th birthday by raising more money for CHLA! She wants to give back to the health community that is making her better. September is also Childhood Cancer Awareness month so it feels all the more appropriate to be doing this now.

Every dollar raised will be for the benefit of the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. We are collecting on here, we will park with Netflix’s matching service and the total amount will go to the CHLA Foundation dedicated to Lymphoma and Leukaemia.

We and they are incredibly grateful for anything you can donate!
