In Loving Memory of Dariel Vasquez: A Community Hero Taken Too Soon
Our family is heartbroken as we mourn the loss of our beloved Dariel Vasquez. At just 18 years old, Dariel’s life was tragically cut short while bravely serving as a Parks and Recreation Aid with the New York State Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation Department. In his final moments, Dariel was courageously battling a wildfire in Sterling Forest, sacrificing his own safety to protect his community. His bravery and selflessness in those last moments were a reflection of his pure heart and unwavering commitment to others.
Dariel was a young man full of promise, hope, and dedication. Born into a family known for community service, Dariel embraced this legacy wholeheartedly. He was not only an admired figure in his community but a guiding light for his family. A Ramapo High School senior and captain of the baseball team, he was a leader among his peers, inspiring others with his compassion, perseverance, and respect for all. He had big dreams for the future, with plans to begin college this coming January, a journey he approached with the same dedication he brought to every role in his life.
Dariel’s sudden passing has left a void in our family and community, yet his legacy of love and courage remains an enduring source of inspiration. We remember him as a true hero – someone who lived his life with purpose, who put others before himself, and who sought to bring hope and positivity wherever he went.
As we grieve this unimaginable loss, we are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from friends, family, and our community. Your kindness and prayers have been a source of strength during this difficult time, and we are forever grateful.
To honor Dariel’s memory and to help our family cover the unexpected costs associated with this tragedy, we are humbly asking for donations. Your support will help us honor Dariel’s life and legacy, as we come together to celebrate the remarkable young man he was. Thank you for any contributions, prayers, and love you can extend to our family in this time of profound sorrow.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Vasquez Family
