Frank Ronald Camara, of Thonotosassa, FL passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024. He was born in North Miami Beach, FL to Ronald and Lucia Anne Camara. Born on September 27, 1960, Frank grew up with a passion for learning and service.
Frank was a proud father of his three children: Margaux, Alexis, and Matthew. He instilled both academic and athletic values in his children, encouraging them to pursue excellence in all areas of life.
His scholastic achievements initially took him to Emory University in Atlanta where he walked on as a sprint freestyler on the Varsity Swim Team, receiving two varsity letters and making the Dean’s List. After two years at Emory, Frank transferred to the University of Florida where he played on the Varsity Water Polo team as well as enrolling in the Navy ROTC. After serving his country with honor and distinction in the United States Navy, he was honorably discharged. Later in life, Frank pursued a Law degree at FIU and Florida Coastal School of Law, completing all 90 hours while maintaining a full-time job.
Beyond his professional and military accomplishments, Frank was known for his community service, distributing food to those in need, and touching the lives of many with his thoughtfulness and generosity. He was a devoted teacher, passionate cyclist, and avid sports fan. He was also an integral part of his alumni community at Chaminade-Madonna Preparatory School. He persevered in everything he did, always seen with a smile on his face.
He is survived by his children, Margaux, Alexis, and Matthew.
Frank’s legacy will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
