Celebrate Her Life with a Beach Memorial

I was blessed to be the mamma of an amazing woman for 42 years. I'm proud of her accomplishments, most especially how many lives she touched over the years as a mom, and a fierce advocate for so many people and nature.

Those of us who she left behind would love to honor her with a memorial bench on Silver Beach in St. Joe. From the time she was a baby, Lake Michigan and any beach along it was her playground and haven, so we felt it was the best way to honor her life and memory.

One bench remained, and her dear friend Leslie was able to make the connection for us, but we were only given a few days to reach out to her family, friends, and colleagues. This is the 'in lieu of flowers' opportunity that many asked about last year. Any money raised above the amount we need for this bench in St. Joe will go toward a memorial in South Haven, where she spent the first 35 years of her life.
