Celebrate Jeff Loeffelholz’s Vibrant Life

Jeff was a vibrant, dynamic and beloved soul who left us too soon. He was a kind sweet soul that impacted every person that he met with his infectious smile and genuine interest in other people.
Jeffery Francis Loeffelholz passed away Friday, June 29th at 2:19pm at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital He is survived in New York City by his partner, Peter De La Cruz. Jeff hailed from Norman, OK, where his surviving family members reside. He graduated with a BFA from The University of Oklahoma.
Jeff is the last remaining original cast member of the current Broadway revival of Chicago the Musical that originally starred Joel Grey, Bebe Neuwirth, James Naughton and Ann Reinking. Jeff was the standby for the role of Mary Sunshine since the show began previews October 23rd, 1996 and opened November 14th, 1996.
He originated the role of the “Eunuch”in the workshop of Kander & Ebb’s The Visit with Angela Lansbury. Jeff was also the co-creator and Soprano of the celebrated and MAC award-winning Dangerous Duets, a musical-comedy revue that paid tribute to Broadway with a twist. A staple on the cabaret circuit, Dangerous Duets performed for royalty, opened for Betty Buckley at New York’s Bottom Line, appeared at La Mama E.T.C. and wowed them at MGM Grand in Las Vegas--among many other venues.

He also performed on two RCA Victor Broadway Carols for a Cure recordings, benefitting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
