Celebrate Mr. Alfred Mouledous' Legacy
Donation protected
In celebration of Mr. Alfred Mouledous, legendary artist-pedagogue, mentor and friend to many, we're throwing him a retirement and legacy Gala Concert February 8th, 2025 at SMU in Caruth Auditorium. Concert time will be 7:00-8:30pm, followed by a birthday cake and champagne toast! (He turns 96 January 29th, 2025)
This Gala concert is FREE to the public and all who RSVP. We want to honor and celebrate Mr. Mouledous’ almost 70 years of generous investment in the lives of so many - from concert artists and piano educators to lifelong professional hobbyists. He has demonstrated through example the incredible power of a piano teacher in a student’s life.
Our lineup of all-stars is BIG. Concert pianists that will be performing are Liszt Competition Winner Dr. Eva Polgar and world-renowned pianist Andrey Ponachevny, along with professors Dr. Warren Chen, Dr. Julie Bees and Dr. Todd Van Kekerix, with a performance from Mr. Mouledous himself. Our guest speakers include Dr. Sam Holland, Dean of the SMU Meadows School of the Arts, and Dr. Peter Jutras, a former student and Dean of the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music.
Currently, all work is being self-funded by two former students who are also piano teachers. Support for this event will help preserve the teaching legacy of Mr. Mouledous. We greatly appreciate your help to ensure his teaching legacy lives on to future generations of pianists!
Bring your students, friends, family and admirers. We want to fill ALL Caruth Auditorium’s 490 seats!!
We are raising funds specifically for:
• Reception costs - SMU is the vendor so we have no control over this
• Flowers to elevate the event for the level that Mr. Mouledous deserves
• Videographer and editor of the event footage for archival purposes, which will be made free to everyone on his AlfredMouledous.com website
• Video production/editing assistance in a tribute video documentary of his teaching principles, made free to everyone and premiered at this event.
• Website creation and hosting costs
Any funds not used specifically for these purposes will be donated to the scholarship in his name at Southern Methodist University. This is a not-for-profit fundraiser.
$500+ - "I'm grateful for the opportunity to pay it forward to Mr. Mouledous!"
$250 - "He was an amazing teacher that transformed my life at the piano"
$100 - "He was a great teacher"
$50 - "I learned some things from him"
$25 - "Phew, I should go practice"
All jokes aside, each donation is appreciated! Even if you are unable to donate at this time, you are still welcome to attend the concert. And likewise, if you are unable to attend the concert, we would greatly appreciate a donation.
