Celebration of Life for Caitlyn Renee Daviess
Donation protected
On August 1, 2020, our beloved Caitlyn suddenly and tragically lost her beautiful life. For twenty four years, Caitlyn was an angel among us. She was a spirited young woman just beginning to find her own way in this world. Caitlyn was kindhearted; she loved fiercely, would do absolutely anything for her family, and was always willing to talk with anyone who needed a friend. She loved breakfast and a good adventure; among her favorites were exploring all that San Francisco and Berkeley had to offer. If given one chance to guess what Caitlyn was doing at any given moment, odds favored watching Law and Order SVU with a Dr. Pepper (or maybe an iced coffee) in hand. Caitlyn loved to laugh, even at her own expense, readily confessing something silly she had said or done just to make someone (and herself) smile. And it was hard not to smile in her presence. Even in the toughest of times, all she had to do was smile and the sun would shine again. Caitlyn was magnetic; people were inexplicably drawn to her. Simply put, she was radiant and royal, and those blessed to know her fully understand all that was lost when her light went dim.
As if finding the strength to feel our way through the dark and desolate emptiness of this incomprehensible loss is not enough, we find ourselves up against the cold hard reality of coming up with the means to honor Caitlyn’s extraordinary life and lay her to rest in peace. It is most humbling to reach up and out for help, but that is exactly where this unthinkable nightmare has brought us: humbly asking for help and immensely grateful for whatever is offered.
Though no measure of time will ever completely heal this gaping wound, the beautiful memory of our precious gift, wrapped in pink, will live eternal.
