Celebrate our Marion High School Staff!

Because of Iowa Code, the pop machine money we were going to use toward our end-of-year staff recognition party is not allowed to be used for that purpose. This money has been accumulating over the past few years (because of COVID,) so we were really ready and excited to celebrate our entire high school staff. When much of the community was still working from home during the pandemic, these guys showed up to work in person. As the Code currently is written, public schools are not allowed to use ANY funding under their district umbrella to celebrate staff members which makes it difficult to build morale and create team-building opportunities like we can in the private sector. If you would like to help me celebrate this amazing staff of over 70 people and/or just love teachers in general, consider giving to our event! (In the meantime, feel free to lobby lawmakers to change the code so that we are able to honor our public workers when they are worthy!)
