Celebrate Queens: Support "The World's Borough" Sculpture!!!

Queens is a mosaic of America’s rich and vibrant multicultural history. We need a sculpture that pays tribute to Queens’ ethnic and cultural contributions to New York City and the rest of the country. It is absolutely the best borough in the greatest city in the world.

Let's celebrate Queens!

In MacDonald Park, located in Forest Hills southbound facing strip On the Corner Queens Blvd and Yellowstone , the large 3D letter sculpture will be street level and easily approachable. Friends and family, children and adults, residents and visitors will be able to pose together to take photos to share. It will be a popular meeting spot, bringing joy and smiles.

New York City is home to iconic statues - The Statue of Liberty, Prometheus at Rockefeller Center, Charging Bull on Wall Street, Alice and Wonderland at Central Park, and the Unisphere at Flushing Meadows Corona Park.

Like the “I Love New York” campaign, "Queens, The World's Borough" will bring recognition and pride to all of Queens.

-The sculpture's 6 feet height is the largest recommended size so that it can easily fit into a truck to be transported.

-The total weight of the statue is estimated to be about 1,700 pounds.

-The sculpture will be in 3 sections: "Qu", "ee" and "ns".

-The letters, "The World's Borough", will be attached to both sections of the base.

-The letters and base will be constructed of steel sheet metal and welded together.

-The finish work includes bodywork, grinding, hard coating, primer and paint. The coating will be outdoor grade, Polyurea ULXT66, hard coating. The paint will be outdoor latex paint. The finish will be durable and weather resistant.

-The base will be mounted onto a heavy steel plate so that it can stand securely and safely without being bolted into the concrete pavement.

-Timeline for design, fabrication, finish and shipping is about 2-3 months.
