Celebrate Richard Thomas's Life: Final Resting Place
Donation protected
Heaven gained another angel. On October 1st, 2024, Richard Thomas transitioned. Richard had such a bright smile and a laugh that was so infectious. He definitely told a lot of “dad jokes.”
Throughout his lifetime Richard was a father, brother, husband, cousin, uncle, friend and a valued member of the community. He received many awards over the years. One of which was the Virginia’s Most Outstanding Crossing Guard award in 2023. Richard sure knew how to keep everyone in the world around him safe.
Throughout his life he worked so hard. He was always going to work or coming from work. Regardless of his schedule, Richard always made time for his kids. He was always so excited to see his kids and be there for them. He attended soccer games and basketball games, school concerts and more. His kids meant the absolute world to him and made him very proud.
In his free time, Richard enjoyed watching pick-up soccer games throughout Alexandria and Arlington. He loved attending Caribbean carnival in Baltimore during the summertime. Lastly, Richard loved being able to travel back to his home country of Trinidad.
Richard Thomas was born in Trinidad. It was the place he wanted to return to when he retired. It was his dream to enjoy the fruits of his labor in a place he knew as home. To respect his wishes, Richard’s final resting place will be where it all started. Please keep Richard and his family in your thoughts at this time. Thank you for reading!
