Celebrate the Life of Kamea the Maho Dog!

Thank you so much!  We raised the goal from $2000 to $3000 after hitting the goal within hours!  Special thanks to Adam Cook for making strong donation to hit the goal.  We matched it to give us a head start to new $3000 goal!

Dear Friend of Kamea the Maho Dog - 

We were absolutely devastated by Kamea’s passing, and are working to do several things in her honor and memory.  We are planting a garden near her gravesite, designing headstones (temporary and permanent), and planting trees at places where she spent time.  

We will eventually do a big fundraising party for her at Maho Crossroads in celebration of her life, and the love she brought to all of us.  (But her celebration will have to wait until the virus cycles through.)

Most importantly, we would like to help the Animal Care Center of St John as soon as possible.  She loved people, but she also loved other dogs and other animals. Even as a dog, she was a teacher of what it means to love. 

She also won the ACC Wagapalooza contest in 2019, and had many friends in attendance.   (We were also parked in front of the ACC when our family found out that she had indeed left us to chase iguanas and deer in doggy heaven.  Sorry to the neighbors who came out hearing our screams of sorrow.)

The best way our friends, and Kamea’s friends, can honor her memory is in making a donation to the St John ACC.  Whether you can afford $5, or $500, we hope you will take a few minutes and make a donation in her name to this great organization.  

St John over the years had many dogs that have needed help, and the ACC does tremendous work in connecting homeless dogs with a loving home, among other great things.  They even help stateside folks adopt these wonderful animals.   

Thank you for caring about Kamea and consideration.  The pain is incredible, but helping this organization and celebrating her memory will help us, help the island, help this organization, and honor her memory.
