Celebrating Amanda's Joyful Spirit

Donation protected
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Amanda Day Guzman (affectionately known as “Panda” or “Mandi”), who left us peacefully on November 19, 2024, at the age of 32, after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Amanda will be deeply missed for her radiant spirit, infectious laughter, and remarkable work ethic. She brought joy and chaos to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She is survived by her loving parents, Yvonne Arispe-Guzman and Bret Guzman, her cherished siblings Ariel Ray Guzman-Trevino and April Kay Guzman, her brother-in-law William Trevino, her devoted grandmother Mary Ann Vera, aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins. Amanda was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Alfred and Carmen Guzman, Manuel and Maria Vera, Onesimo and Eva Abrego, Miguel and Eloisa Arispe, her grandparents Gilbert Guzman, Maria and Eloy Arispe Sr, and her beloved fur babies, Dylan and Dozer.

Amanda treasured her friendships and loved spending time with her childhood friends Kyndall, Victoria, and Claudia, who were like family to her. Her favorite hobbies included playing video games, streaming on Twitch, attending concerts, traveling, and enjoying moments of relaxation. She was passionate about her job, rarely missing a day, and took pride in being surrounded by her coworkers, who became an extended family.

In her last year with us, Amanda embraced life to the fullest. She traveled to vibrant destinations such as New Orleans, Chicago, and Greece for family adventures, and to Colorado for work. She and her sister Ariel discovered a new love for Dungeons & Dragons, making new friends through the game, and spent countless hours bonding over video games like Sea of Thieves and their childhood favorite, Halo. Amanda and her youngest sister, April, often got swept up in games like The Sims, playing until their eyes were red from laughter and focus.

Amanda had an incredible passion for live music, attending countless concerts with friends and family. Her best friend Josh and brother-in-law William often served as her personal bodyguards during shows, where she saw her favorite bands, including Knocked Loose, Deftones, Gojira, and Strawberry Girls.

From an early age, Amanda loved the outdoors and nature. She cherished hunting and fishing trips with her father, playing in the Frio River, climbing the hill at her grandparents’ ranch, and collecting rocks with her mother. She also had a love for nurturing indoor and outdoor plants, which brought her a sense of peace and fulfillment.

Amanda’s presence lit up every room she entered, and her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of her extraordinary life will be held on December 13, 2024, from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238. Family and friends are invited to gather in her honor and share the cherished memories she created during her time with us.
