Our world lost an exceptional human last October when Braden Souders passed away unexpectedly.

Braden touched many lives while growing up in the Lawrence/Baldwin KS area and earning his degree at Haskell Indian Nations University in Environmental Science.

Braden was an avid outdoorsman and loved mountain biking, gravel grinds, and city cruising. He could also be found at skate parks around Lawrence and had many friends in the skateboarding community. He worked at The Lawrence Re-Cyclery for 5 years-fixing thousands of bicycles for Lawrence Cyclists and could also be found whipping up scrumptious Pizza at Rudy’s Pizza in downtown Lawrence.

He enjoyed helping people and was truly one of the kindest souls to ever walk among us.

Braden’s spirit will always be with us and to honor him, and keep his memory alive, we are raising funds to purchase bicycles and skateboards for Lawrence area Indigenous Youth who may otherwise be unable to afford them.

We are hosting a Memorial Service on the longest day of sunlight-Summer Solstice-Thursday, June 20th, at 5 pm at Hobbs Park in East Lawrence.

We will be grilling, sharing stories, and having silly good fun-just as Braden would want us to do.

Come join us in person celebrating Braden’s life if you’re able-cash and check donations along with some fun raffle items will be happening June 20th.

*We are giving away a sick disc golf basket made out of recycled bicycle parts and hosting a Huffy Toss contest. Also, one lucky person will take home a cool portable grill for camping adventures.
