Celebrating Jace and Dayna Thompson
Donation protected
Jace and Dayna Thompson have been serving and ministering to the young and old for the past 36 years! After an epic run with Young Life, they’ve decided to begin a new chapter in their lives and I’m hoping, as a community of believers, we can offer them an epic gift as a huge thank you for all they’ve done.
I realize there is an immeasurable amount of people out there who could share a personal testimony in regard to the impact Jace and Dayna have had on their decision to follow Christ. Personally, it’s been an unbelievable honor to walk so closely with them through so many seasons of life. I can’t help but think of where I’d be without their influence. I’m forever indebted and I know so many of you feel the same.
We’ve never known a family to have a more trafficked home than the Thompson's. They sacrificed privacy long ago, as people come at all times of the day and night. No one has ever, or will ever, be turned away. Over the years, they graciously offered up their home as a place of refuge, a restaurant, gathering place, hotel, counseling center, study hall, concert venue, dojo and in countless other capacities.
We’ve seen them work tirelessly for the Kingdom’s mission. We’ve witnessed them sacrifice time, energy and resources, which far exceeds any expectation placed on them. We’ve witnessed them give and give and give. And to be honest they are weary, worn out, sad, excited, reminiscent, a little nervous, faithful, both weak and strong at times, but more than anything else, they are forever grateful for all of you. They absolutely treasure their individual relationships with each and every one of you.
It sucks to have to ask people for money over and over, but I know first hand, they only did so because they knew the payoff was high school kids hearing the gospel. And if you know Jace at all, you know he’d sacrifice his pride and become a fool for Christ if it meant one more kid hearing about Jesus. Jace is relentless when it comes to helping others. Dayna is the most humble, behind the scenes, servant I’ve ever known. The Lord has been so incredibly faithful to provide for them. There are stories stacked upon stories as evidence. If you want the short version, ask Jace. If you want every single detail and side story to accompany it, ask Dayna. All that to say, they’ve never had extra. They learned to stretch every dollar they've ever earned to its maximum because they had to. And they wouldn’t trade it for the world.
I know it’s a big ask, but it shouldn’t be when you really think about it. I know all of us together can raise enough money to give them a year of rest in knowing how much we appreciate all they’ve done as they make this huge transition at a seemingly late season of life.
Please pass this link along to as many people as possible, so we can reach our goal of $75,000.
Last thing...encouragements are welcome, but bombarding them with questions right now will not serve them well. Please wait on the longer conversations. They truly don’t have the energy to go through it all time and again.
Thank you all so much!!!
