Celebrating Life - Matthew Causey Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On Monday morning, June 22nd, our beloved, sweet, and beautiful boy unexpectedly and tragically lost his life. He was a strong, hard working, goofy and handsome young man with his whole life ahead of him. His whole life. We just celebrated his 21st birthday past last October. He loved his family with his whole heart and had the kindest, sweetest soul of any human I had ever met.
I wanted to share a couple of the first memories I experienced of our sweet boy with yall. He had a laugh and smile that would make any bad day turn right around. He always enjoyed being the goofy one and absolutely loved anything that involved his sisters or hanging out with his daddy and I. It never mattered what we were doing, he just wanted to do it with us. Always.
He was a boy in every sense of the word I tell you! Would put rocks and bugs in his pockets, imagined he was a bull rider and ride his tire swing for hours because one day, he used to tell us, he was going to the PBR! He loved his cowboy boots and his cowboy hats. He was the first kid I ever seen just run around in his undies and boots and be just the happiest kiddo in the world! He wore them with EVERYTHING!
Another fond memory of this boy I have to share is he had this guitar and we remember vividly, like it was yesterday, hearing him in his room strumming his guitar and just singing as loud as he could (not well I may add) but Daddy always told him, "if you dont sing good, sing loud!" So he did. He said one day he was going to be a country singer too. A bullriding country singer. Oh that boy... Want to know what his favorite color was? Of course, it was camo!
Those were some of the first memories I had with this wonderful boy. I was only 18 when he called me Mama for the first time and handed me a bushel of flowers he had picked outside in yard. He loved picking me flowers, because it made me smile....
He played t-ball right before he was fixin to start kindergarten, and he was just so excited that his Daddy was his coach. He always asked him to coach him and he got what he wanted. He had a hall of fame swing and played second base! He was so good and loved being on that field! After that, by golly, he was going to be in the MLB!
When he came back to stay with us in high school, he wanted to play football! Oh my Daddy was now just as happy as a clam because he had always wanted that boy to play football! We got him all signed up and sophomore year he played for Clear Falls and when we had to move to Dickinson, he was beside himself to be able to play for one of the best teams in the area and he was determined that he was going to play college ball and then go Pro! In case you aren't catching the drift here, in anything he did, he was going to be the best at it. He always set his bar high. From junior year through Senior year he had some of the best years of his life. Those were some of the best of ours as well being able to have him home and near and be able to love him every single day! Thank God for those years.
Coming back home he was able to be reconnected with not only the sister he prayed us to have for him but his sister on the way and with his cousin Christian who was by far his best friend in the whole world. He was able to hang out with all the members of his big wonderful loving Causey family that were just so excited to have him back.
There are a zillion more memories and I could write VOLUMES with the billion pictures and videos we have from his short life.
We want to celebrate his life the way he wanted and take care of all these very unexpected and unprepared for expenses. We have received some very generous offers to help us out so I created this page so anyone could donate to Matthew's Memorial fund in one place. Anything helps and we appreciate all donations.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support that yall have shown us and the family in this very tragic and horrible time that is far from being over.
