Fund Purpose: Memorial Service, Burial, and Six Months' Living Expenses for the Deceased's Minor Child

On July 25th, a brave woman from Vancouver, Cynthia Miao, tragically lost her life after falling while climbing the Matterhorn in Switzerland. At 49 years old, this single mother passed away, leaving behind her minor son, Will.

Cynthia was born in a rural area of northeastern China and, through her own hard work, immigrated to Vancouver in 2008. That same year, she gave birth to Will. After a failed marriage, Cynthia became a single mother and took on the responsibility of raising her child alone. She worked as a real estate agent, where her professionalism, dedication, and honesty earned her the admiration of her clients. Cynthia was passionate about life and had many hobbies, including skiing, climbing, cooking, and gardening. She was warm and sincere in her friendships.

Tragically, such an outstanding woman lost her life due to an accident in a foreign land. After nearly two months, her identity was confirmed, and she was cremated in Switzerland. Her ashes are expected to return to Vancouver soon. A Celebration of Life is scheduled for September 21st, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, at Richmond Funeral Home, with plans for her burial at Boundary Bay Cemetery.

As Cynthia's death was sudden, no will has been found, and a lengthy legal process may be required to settle her estate. Even the cost of returning her ashes to Vancouver has been significant. Your donation will help Cynthia's minor son get through these most difficult days. It’s not just financial support; it will show Will that he is surrounded by the warmth of the community. When he grows up, we believe he will pass on this love and help others in need, continuing the cycle of kindness.

我们亲爱的Cynthia 苗静房姐于2024年7月25日在瑞士攀登马特洪峰时发生意外，不幸遇难。自从事情发生以来，在亲人，朋友和社会各界引起了很大的反响。 由于事情发生在瑞士，整个后事的处理过程相对复杂，比想象中的漫长，瑞士警方在加拿大驻瑞士伯恩大使馆，国际刑警，加拿大警方等多方面的协助下，于8月29日通过DNA 对比，最终完成了官方身份认定。 遗体于9月3日在瑞士火化，骨灰也在回加拿大的路上。 在这里，还要特别感谢在第一时间提供救援的Air Zermatt 团队。

Cynthia 苗静房姐的一生是短暂的，如夏花般绚烂，活出了她的精彩。 她除了自己喜爱的工作之外，热爱滑雪，热爱户外，热爱种花种菜，热爱猫猫…… 留下了很多珍贵的照片和视频，还有很多美好的回忆。虽然她的生命在马特洪峰按下终止键，但她矫健身姿和红裙身影却永远留在了大温的美丽山水中，她的灿烂笑容也永远留在我们每个人的心中。
